RECIPE: Nutkrack Snowball Cookies

Rich and buttery, fun to make and a treat to share and enjoy, these are classic cookies with an added crunch from Nutkrack pecans! We are grateful to our photographer Amy for this recipe and photo, and as always we thank her kids for helping in the Nutkrack test kitchens!

Nutkrack Snowball Cookies

Makes 14-16 cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup powdered sugar for rolling (set aside)

1 cup flour

1/2 cup finely chopped Nutkrack pecans

3 T. white sugar

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, at room temp

1 t. vanilla

Pinch of salt

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Mix together all ingredients to form dough.

Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.

Roll dough into one-inch balls and place on a parchment-line baking sheet.

Bake for 10-13 minutes (or just until set but not yet golden brown).

While still warm, roll in a bowl of powdered sugar and set aside to cool.

After cool (about 20-25 min), roll for a second coat in powdered sugar.

Enjoy!
