RECIPE: Nutkrack Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates (GF)
We all miss getting to visit our favorite restaurants these days. The whole experience of trying amazing new dishes, and old favorites, is something that warms the heart of all of us here at Nutkrack HQ.
So, we have been trying to make as many of those memories at home! Here is a nice, healthy starter for your next dinner date on the couch.
(It's gluten free, and bacon is healthy, right???)
We swapped the nuts in these little bundles of yum for Nutkrack and it certainly was worth our while. These tasty morsels are great for fending off hungry family members (and guests again soon, we hope!) while you finish cooking the main dish.
24 Pitted dates
24 pieces of Nutkrack (half Firekracker for a surprise?)
12 slices of raw local bacon
- Preheat your oven to 400° F.
- Lightly spray a foil lined sheet tray with cooking spray.
- Insert a pecan half into each date. Cut each bacon strip in half. Wrap the bacon around a stuffed date and then secure with a toothpick.
- Arrange the dates, seam side down on the sheet tray and then dust with BBQ seasoning.
BONUS: If you're feeling extra fancy, add brie or goat cheese in each piece :-)
