RECIPE: Nutkrack Candied Pecan Puppy Chow
Just in case our Ridiculous Chex Mix recipe didn't make you swoon, we are back with more amazing ways to eat Nutkrack and Chex. Yes, we are just that crazy!
If you've never tasted, or heard of, Puppy Chow, you have been missing out. Think sugary, chocolatey, peanut buttery Chex Mix...and now add Nutkrack. What's not to love?
INGREDIENTS
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
10 cups Rice Chex cereal
2 cups powdered sugar, plus more if needed (let's not kid ourselves, add more!)
1 cup Nutkrack or Firekracker
DIRECTIONS
Combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then stir to combine. Continue microwaving in 20 second increments until mixture is completely smooth. Add vanilla and salt and stir to combine.
Pour cereal into a large bowl, then pour over chocolate mixture. Toss gently until all cereal is coated.
Pour coated cereal into a large resealable plastic bag, then add powdered sugar and shake to coat.
Add 1 cup of Nutkrack to mixture.
Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
